E-sweep, Environment Control Unit

Name Environment Control Unit
Type E-sweep
Overview This unit, in addition to observing the topography and properties of the surface of substances in various temperature environments, is equipped with a surface transference monitor function that quantitatively evaluates changes of surface properties as the temperature continuously changes.
Features 1. Samples can be operated in various environments such as in high vacuum or in solution. The optical system is installed outside of the chamber and adjustment of cantilever at unexpected bending caused by environmental change is made possible at any time.
2. The new concept Swing-cancellation mechanism dramatically diminishes fluctuation of the system, resulting in 0.0015nm/sec level of drift. Also Smooth-approach mechanism enables the probe tip approach without damage.
3. Re-adjustment of the optical system at sample exchange is now unnecessary, enabled by advanced flange design. The latest cantilever holder unifies many measurement modes without changing environment.
4. Area in feedback which monitors thermal expansion of a sample and the system enables continuous measurement during temperature change.
